Cache Valley is an ideal place to find work and enjoy life. The valley location is whithin a 24 hour drive of any metropolitan area of the entire western half of the United States. This allows the opportunity for any company to ship products to a variety of cities without a high shipping cost. The large number of students attending Utah State University provide a solid base of employees to support the economic growth of any business.
Cache Valley is home to a large number good companies including the industry leader in excercise equipment, Icon Health and Fitness, Inc. ICON is based in Cache Valley but has 11 locations around the world. Icon employs a total of 4,200 people. The company started in 1977 when two business students that were attending Utah State decided to partner up and start there own company. ICON now produces 3.9 million units of quality fitness equipment. The company now owns and manufactures many well-known brands like ProForm, Nordic Track, and HealthRider. They also license Reebok and Gold's Gym Brands. The company also does all marketing, research, development and industrial design for these product lines.
Utah State University is the largest employer in the valley with over 5,000 employees. The University is Utah's land grant university, which means that it will never limit the number of qualified students attending the campus.

The next largest employer is E.A. Miller, a meat products company.
