Cache Valley Communities

AMALGA

Amalga, with its population of 427, offers several recreational facilities and town celebrations for the whole family. The city is also home of the Cache Valley Cheese plant. Cache Valley Cheese employs 180 people and is considered the world's largest swiss cheese factory.

CLARKSTON

Clarkston, population 688, elevation 4,450 ft., is a rich, dry farming community. Alfalfa and grain are its principal crops and the town provides a country setting with a neighborly feeling. The “Martin Harris” pageant is hosted here every August.

CORNISH

Cornish, just outside of Lewiston, is nestled in the northwestern end of Cache Valley. With a population of approximately 259, it is a small farming community and is a great place to get away from city life. You will find here accessible land for farming and agriculture in a beautiful country setting.

HYDE PARK

Hyde Park, situated close to Logan and the USU campus, caters to the whole family with its parks, picnic areas, and friendly neighborhoods. This beautiful budding community of Logan has grown to a population of 2,955.

HYRUM

Hyrum, situated next to Hyrum Reservoir and Blacksmith Fork Canyon, is a great place for outdoor recreation from water sports to camping to mountain biking. Hyrum is located in the southern most part of the valley and is home to 6,316 people.

LEWISTON

Lewiston is a beautiful rural community located 15 miles north of Logan. It’s population of 1,877 and elevation of 4,505 ft., makes it ideal for any family looking to live in a small mountain town. Two parks provide great settings for recreational activities and Presto Products, a manufacturing industry, is a great local employer for those seeking to work in town.

LOGAN

Logan, with a population of 42,670, is the growing metropolis of Cache Valley. Rich in theatre, culture, education, community parks, and historical sites, Logan is ideal for recreation and family entertainment. It has all of the amenities of a big city while preserving the feeling of a small town.

MENDON

Mendon, set against the Wellsville Mountain range, is ideal for anyone who enjoys mountain biking, hiking, horse back riding, and bird watching. The Little Bear River is also accessible from Mendon making it a great place for boating, fishing, and hunting. Mendon’s population is nearing 900.

NORTH LOGAN

Close to Logan’s resources, North Logan has become a beautiful family community and a growing retail center. It’s several parks and recreational areas, large retail stores, and community activities, make North Logan a lovely and prosperous place to live. It is home to 6,163 people.

PROVIDENCE

Providence, home of the historical Providence Inn/Old Rock Church Bed and Breakfast, has a population of 4,377 and is located only two miles outside of Logan. This bedroom community is beautiful and friendly.

RICHMOND

Richmond is one of Cache Valley’s more prominent outlying communities. Approximately 12 miles north of Logan, it provides many services and recreational fun for everyone. Pepperidge Farms, a well-known supplier of bakery goods, is Richmond’s largest employer. Richmond is home to 2,051 people.

RIVER HEIGHTS

Set against the Wasatch National Forest, River Heights boasts some of the best views of the valley. It is also recognized as having one of the state’s best culinary systems. Its population is nearing 1,500.

SMITHFIELD

Smithfield, located only minutes outside of Logan, is a thriving community. Smithfield's population exceeds 7,000 and the town contains many shops, stores, and recreational facilities. Nearby Smithfield Canyon also provides a great place for all types of outdoor recreation.

NEWTON

Newton, is a small farming community with a population of 699. Areas of interest include Newton Dam and Cutler Reservoir. Water sports and excellent fishing holes attract many people to this small town.

NIBLEY

Located 3 miles outside of Logan, Nibley is becoming one of the fastest growing communities in the valley. Its population exceeds 2,000 and it continues to grow at an annual rate of 5%.

MILLVILLE

Approximately three miles from Logan, Millville is a growing community that provides a nice family environment. Its population is 1,507.

TRENTON

Trenton provides beautiful mountain scenery and a country atmosphere to the 449 residents who live there. Located 12 miles from Logan and heavy into agriculture, Trenton is another outlying farming community in Cache Valley.

WELLSVILLE

With a foot trail that leads to the base of the ridge of the Wellsville mountain range, Wellsville provides a breathtaking view over three states to residents and visitors alike. Its population is nearing 3,000 and it is the home of the Jensen Living Historical Farm.
